The Theatre Studies home is Alumnae Hall. The Ruth Nagel Jones Theater, our main performance space, is on the bottom floor. The Theatre Studies Office is room 302, on the third floor. All THST-run classes take place within the building, either in the theatre, or in one of the classrooms within Alumnae Hall.
Yes! Each semester, Theatre Studies hires a number of students to work in either the THST Office, or with our Production Manager. Responsibilities and time commitments vary, but student workers can expect to put in 5-10 hours per week. If you're interested in working in the THST Office, please contact sv104@wellesley.edu. In some cases, yes! Seeing a show for class? Interested in a performance related to your studies? The Theatre Studies Program is able to purchase a limited amount of tickets each semester on students' behalfs. If you would like to request a ticket purchase, please fill out this form.
Our main performance space is the Ruth Nagel Jones Theater, a black-box style, 80+ capacity space which can be re-configured for each show. The RNJ is located on the bottom floor of Alumnae Hall.
Absolutely not! Many of our most dedicated students are not pursuing a major in Theatre Studies. Auditions, productions, and classes are open to all.
You sure can! We have several pre-approved programs, and there are many other programs available for international drama studies. Check out our Study Abroad page here.
Yes! We have a sizable collection of scripts, academic texts, and more available for lending to students. Check out our Catalogue here. Stop in to the Theatre Studies Office to borrow.
