Robert Savine

Accompanist/Coach in Music

Department

Since moving to Boston in the early 80s to attend Berklee School of Music, I’ve been lucky to work with many fine musicians. As a member of the Mike Metheny Quartet, I performed at the Montreal, Telluride, and Saratoga Jazz Festivals. I was also a member of the Cercie Miller Quartet and recorded three records with the group. Some of the other musicians I’ve worked with include Dave Kikoski, Ray Santisi, Herb Pomeroy, and the Artie Shaw Orchestra. I am currently a member of the Fred Moyer Jazz Trio. We have performed around New England and done tours in North Carolina and Florida. I’ve also played a lot of weddings and functions over the years, which have taught me a lot about how to be an accompanist. I try to share these experiences with all of the students with whom I work.
